The
State Flag was adopted from the official flag of the Kingdom of
Hawai`i. It has eight stripes in white, red and blue representing
the eight major islands. The field is patterned after the Union Jack
of Great Britain reflecting the respect that Hawaii's leaders had for the
English. |
